The Visit Minneapolis North area has a long standing tradition of hosting world class sports events. Because of the verstility of the venues in the area, there is no apprehension when it comes to an event size. We are dedicated to making each event in our area a showcase event and an example to follow. "We are the ony CVB in the upper Midwest who has three full time staff members dedicated to Sports. Over 35 team friendly lodging properties are conveniently located near a variety of sports venues including the National Sports Center Campus in Blaine. This venue has fifty-five soccer fields plus numerous multi-sport fields that can be used for football, lacrosse, and rugby. Home of the Schwan Super Rink featuring four Olympic size rinks under one roof, the largest in the nation. The National youth Golf Center is one of the most versatile courses for any age competitor. New to the NSC, The Schwan Event Center, a 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art event and conference center. The National Sports Center hosts the largest international youth soccer tournament in North America, Schwan USA Cup. In 2004 and 2005, this event attracted nearly 1,000 teams! National Youth Golf Center is also on the NSC campus. It was designed by PGA Tour Design. The course has both regulation and youth length golf courses. Hollis Cavner, 3M Championship Tournament Director, calls it "the most versitile golf course in America". TPC course in Blaine is the site of one of the most successful PGA Champions Tour, the 3M Championship.
